In partnership with Help Musicians Scotland (HMS) WIDE DAYS offer a bursary for emerging artists and industry professionals to attend the Thursday and Friday activities + the Saturday Festival Takeover. There are 20 heavily-subsidised passes for £25 (walk up rate £130) and 20 free places which we allocate to those who face additional financial challenges.
SHOWCASING THE BEST EMERGING TALENT
The Wide Days showcase programme takes place across 3 of the cities main music venues in the evening of Friday 12 April and for the first time will include a live programme on Saturday 13 April.
Wide Days’ showcases cover a broad musical spectrum and acts who have previously performed at the event include Be Charlotte, Catholic Action, Fatherson, Rachel Sermanni, Declan Welsh & The Decadent West, The Ninth Wave, Scottish Album of the Year Award winner Kathryn Joseph and the Mercury-nominated C Duncan. Moreover, Honeyblood, PAWS and Siobhan Wilson, all signed record deals as a result of their performances.
Record Number of Delegates at Wide Days 2018
More than 340 (up from 250 in 2017) music industry delegates from across Europe attended the Wide Days convention in Edinburgh on 20-21 April, for a series of panels, presentations and showcases featuring a selection of Scotland’s most exciting new acts.
Taking place in Teviot Row House, the world’s oldest student union, the conference hosted on Friday included talks on new music label models based on streaming services, improving disabled access to music events, what other genres can learn from the metal scene and looked at how to increase the number of female acts on festival bills.

Wide Days brings the the full spectrum of music industry professionals together to discuss a range of topics, present new initiatives and highlight some of the most forward-thinking work being carried out across the business.
