We are looking for outstanding music-based projects across the UK that will enhance the lives of girls and women with caring responsibilities

Applications are now open for music projects to support women and girls with caring responsibilities. Scottish applicants can apply for up to £50,000.

We will award grants that offer opportunities for fun, creative expression and (re)discovery of self through music-making,” says Debbie Lye, Chief Executive, Spirit of 2012.

Spirit of 2012 is inviting applications to its Carers’ Music Fund, for projects that will increase access to music-making for women and girls with caring responsibilities.

Spirit was awarded £1.5m from the DCMS Tampon Tax Fund earlier this year, which it has matched with £400,000 of its own, making a total of £1.9m for its Carers’ Music Fund.

English applicants can apply for up to £200,000; Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish applicants can apply for up to £50,000. All grantees can then apply for up to an additional 20% to fund activities for the cared-for.

To apply for this grant, you must be a registered charity, community interest company or not-for-profit organisation. We can fund profit-making organisations as long as this grant does not contribute to profit making activity.
